Invitation for Rural Nurse Practitioners
GRNEN is inviting rural nurses from around the globe to submit abstracts that highlight and celebrate innovative practices that address unique challenges and opportunities in rural healthcare settings. Accepted abstracts will be presented during a 30-minute webinar beginning in October 2024.
Invitation for Nursing Students
GRNEN invites nursing students from around the globe who have experience or exposure in rural settings to submit abstracts that highlight and celebrate innovative practices that address unique challenges and opportunities in rural healthcare settings. Accepted abstracts will be presented during a 15-minute webinar beginning in November 2024.
Call for Rural Nursing Innovation Abstracts Opens April 1 and Closes June 1.
Accepted submissions will have the honor of presenting their work to an international audience during the period of September - December of 2024. Recipients will receive a $200 honorarium per selected submission/presentation. These webinars will highlight outstanding innovations and learnings in rural nursing.
General Information
- All abstracts must focus on research, work or studies in rural settings.
- Abstracts will be open from April 1, 2024 through June 1, 2024.
- Primary authors will serve as the main contact for GRNEN.
- Primary authors of accepted abstracts will have the honor of presenting their topic during the time of September to December 2024. Co-authors may present as well.
Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts must be a maximum of 300 words and formatted in Microsoft Word.
- Abstracts must be sent electronically to info@grnen.org.
- Submissions must include the following:
- Presentation Title
- Author(s), including related credentials and affiliations
- Background, including a brief overview of the research problem addressed in your study or the context and importance of your rural nursing practice innovation.
- Justification of the Importance to Rural Nursing
- Methods Used, including a description of the population, sample size, design type, and analytical approach of your research or the methods, approaches or inventions used in your rural nursing experience.
- Results, including the major findings of your research or the outcomes and impact of findings of your rural nursing practice innovation.
- Conclusion, including details on what the study contributes to the understanding of rural nursing and what the implications are for the future research or a summary of the key takeaways and implications of your rural nursing experience.
- Keywords - 3-5 keywords that highlight the main focus areas of your presentation.
- Only completed abstracts will be eligible for review.
- A confirmation email will be sent to the primary author.
Examples of topic areas include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Technology Integration in Rural Healthcare
- For example: telehealth and telemedicine applications, electronic health records in rural settings, innovative use of mobile health solutions
- Community Engagement and Collaboration
- For example: partnerships with local communities and stakeholders, culturally competent care in rural populations, strategies for addressing healthcare disparities in rural areas
- Workforce Development and Training
- For example: education programs for rural nurses, simulation innovations in rural environments, strategies for retaining and recruiting rural healthcare professionals, mentorships and professional development initiatives
- Patient-Centered Care in Rural Settings
- For example: patient navigation and advocacy, strategies for improving patient outcomes in remote areas, innovative models of care delivery
- Quality Improvement and Safety
- For example: best practices in ensuring patient safety in rural healthcare, continuous quality improvement initiatives, utilization of data analytics for rural healthcare improvement
Review Process
- All abstracts will be reviewed by at least two members of the GRNEN leadership team.
- Abstracts undergo a blind review.
- Accepted abstracts will be notified to the primary author via email on July 1, 2024.
